BEFORE THE START, WEXFORD RACES Oil on board, 13 x 20 inches The start for this hurdle race was in front of the stands which is always a lovely spectacle as you don't often get the chance to see the horses so well before the off. It was a lovely, warm summers evening, the sky hazy with pale golden sunlight which I hope I have managed to capture in this particular painting.
