JUNGLE ART BY LISA MILLER
The paintings in this gallery were inspired by my favourite Naive Artist Henry
Rousseau, who was born in France in 1844.
I studied his work during my Art Foundation course many years ago and
produced a painting in his style but based on Millais' Ophelia for one of our
set projects. I have been an admirer ever since.
Rousseau never visited the Tropics but took his inspiration from the marvelous
hot houses of the Jardins des Plantes in Paris.
