BETWEEN THE FLAGS
BETWEEN THE FLAGS POINT TO POINT PAINTING EQUESTRIAN ART LISA MILLER
BETWEEN THE FLAGS
Oil on board, 22 x 31 inches

This is a scene from Lydstep point-to-pont in Pembrokeshire, not too far from Tenby, where, I believe, there used to be a racecourse.  The Lydstep meeting is always held on the Sprint bank holiday and attracts plenty of visitors.  This day was sunny but very chilly but as always in the sunshine, the horses looked magnificent.

The original photograph contained more horses but it was a little cluttered and awkward.  I like a certain rhythm in my racing paintings and by taking out a couple of the runners, lengthening the white flag's pole (so that you could actually see it ) and removing some spectators from the background I think I managed to achieve that.
