Another busy year so far with several paintings completed for the Horse in Art and for another one-day exhibition at Newbury racecourse in July.
Last year I had two of my four paintings accepted for the Society of Equestrian Artists Annual Exhibition at the Mall, ‘Youth and Experience’ and ‘Homeward Bound, Newmarket’. I was very honoured to have ‘Youth & Experience’ chosen as ‘Best in Show’ which was kindly and generously sponsored by Denford Stud. This year I’m hoping to have two more accepted as I will then be eligible to be nominated for full membership of the Society.
Last year the Society of equestrian Artists staged a one-day exhibition at Newbury Racecourse during the prestigious Dubai International Arabian raceday. There was a lot of interest throughout the day in between the top-class races, with a couple of originals, plenty of prints and cards selling. My painting of one of the day’s winners, Djainka Des Forges was one of those that sold. I was also very pleased that my painting of Manark was chosen for the front of the racecard. Members of the Society will be attending again this year so hopefully we will have another good sales day.
